Exertus Oy has developed a unique Simulink block in collaboration with MathWorks, enabling direct, bidirectional data exchange between the Exertus Exmebus system and the Simulink simulation environment. This custom-built block, designed specifically for Exertus, is not available elsewhere and provides a powerful software bridge between real-time systems and simulation models. First release of the ConnectExertus block was 2020 and the latest update has just been released 4/2025.
The ConnectExertus block operates within Simulink and allows users to simulate and analyze data transmitted through Exmebus in real time. Built using MathWorks tools such as MATLAB Functions and S-Function techniques, the block offers a robust and efficient integration for use in various Simulink-based system models.
This integration brings significant benefits to development processes, particularly in mobile work machines and other demanding applications. By using the ConnectExertus block, engineers can test and validate HW and SW, either virtually or physically, before the deployment to real machine environment — saving both time and resources.
The ConnectExertus block is included in Exertus development toolchains and can be deployed as part of project deliveries. The block functions close cooperation with other Exertus tools.
